Market Notes
Historic core in West Germany and European/export markets; revival focused heavily on China and selected international markets.

Borgward was a German automotive group built around entrepreneur Carl F. W. Borgward and associated marques including Borgward, Goliath and Lloyd. The Borgward badge itself became best known for postwar cars such as the Isabella, which combined relatively advanced engineering with distinctive styling. The original Bremen-based group collapsed in 1961. Decades later the Borgward name was revived for a new range of SUVs backed by Chinese investment, but that revival also encountered financial difficulties. The marque therefore has two clearly separated production eras.
