Market Notes
Primarily wealthy American buyers, with strong European competition and coachbuilding connections.

Cunningham was the automobile marque created by American sportsman Briggs Cunningham as part of his effort to challenge Europe’s best cars in international competition. His Florida operation built racing machines for events such as Le Mans and also produced the road-going C-3 in the early 1950s. The C-3 combined an American Chrysler Hemi V8 and Cunningham chassis with Italian Vignale coachwork styled by Giovanni Michelotti. Only a few dozen road cars were completed, but they established Cunningham as a genuine manufacturer rather than merely a racing team.
