German marque associated with aircraft manufacturer Messerschmitt that became famous for tiny tandem-seat bubble cars in the postwar period. The KR175 and later KR200 used motorcycle-like controls, lightweight construction and a distinctive canopy. Production was subsequently handled by FMR as Messerschmitt returned its focus to aviation. The customer-delivered Kabinenroller vehicles make Messerschmitt an important microcar marque in its own right.
