Market Notes
Italian and European specialty market with some North American sales and strong international design influence.

Cisitalia was founded in Turin in 1946 by industrialist and racing enthusiast Piero Dusio. The company began with competition machinery and quickly moved into road-going sports cars, most famously the 202. Its Pinin Farina-designed body became an influential example of the postwar shift toward integrated, flowing automotive forms. Cisitalia also pursued an extraordinarily ambitious grand prix project that consumed substantial resources. The original company’s life was brief and production remained small, but its combination of racing, engineering and design gave it influence far beyond its sales volume.
