American specialty marque founded by Brooks Stevens and associated with neoclassical luxury cars inspired by prewar styling. The first production Excalibur combined a dramatic 1930s-influenced appearance with contemporary American mechanical components, initially using Studebaker and later Chevrolet power. Several generations of hand-built roadsters and phaetons followed, making Excalibur one of the most recognizable American neoclassical manufacturers.
