Italian marque founded in Turin in 1899 as Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino. Fiat became central to the development of mass motoring in Italy, producing everything from tiny urban cars to family sedans, commercial vehicles and sporting derivatives. Models such as the 500, 600, 124 and Panda shaped multiple generations of European motoring. Fiat later anchored Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and today forms part of Stellantis.
