Italian industrial marque founded by Ferdinando Innocenti, initially famous for Lambretta scooters before entering automobile production. Innocenti built licensed versions of British Motor Corporation cars, including the Mini, and later developed increasingly distinct derivatives and small cars. Ownership passed through British Leyland and later Alejandro de Tomaso before Fiat acquired the business. The Innocenti automobile name disappeared during the 1990s.
