Swedish high-performance marque founded by Christian von Koenigsegg in 1994 with the goal of developing an original supercar. Years of prototype development led to customer production of the CC8S in the early 2000s. Koenigsegg became known for in-house engineering, carbon-fiber construction, unusual door mechanisms and extreme power outputs, later introducing technologies such as the Direct Drive transmission and Freevalve-related concepts.
