American automobile marque formed when Charles W. Nash acquired the Thomas B. Jeffery Company. Nash became known for engineering and packaging ideas including advanced heating systems, aerodynamic styling and compact cars. Nash-Kelvinator merged with Hudson in 1954 to form American Motors Corporation. Nash-badged automobiles continued briefly afterward before AMC consolidated its products under other identities.
