Swedish performance and electric-vehicle marque that evolved from a motorsport and tuning relationship with Volvo. Volvo acquired the Polestar performance business and later repositioned Polestar as a standalone electrified marque in 2017. The limited-production Polestar 1 plug-in hybrid was followed by fully electric models beginning with the Polestar 2. The marque shares technology and corporate history with Volvo while maintaining its own vehicle identity.
