British specialist sports-car marque originating with Trevor Wilkinson’s engineering business in Blackpool. TVR developed a reputation for lightweight fiberglass-bodied cars, dramatic styling and increasingly powerful engines, culminating in models such as the Griffith, Chimaera, Cerbera, Tuscan and Sagaris. Ownership and financial instability repeatedly interrupted production, but its numerous customer-delivered road cars establish a clear independent marque identity.
