ZAZ

Ukrainian automobile marque associated with the Zaporizhzhia Automobile Building Plant. ZAZ became known across the Soviet Union for inexpensive compact cars such as the rear-engined Zaporozhets series, later moving to front-wheel-drive vehicles including the Tavria. The company continued through the post-Soviet period with partnerships and licensed production, although passenger-car manufacturing later contracted substantially.
