The 131 Abarth Rally turned Fiat’s familiar saloon into a purpose-developed rally contender. Wider bodywork, mechanical revisions and a road-going homologation programme supported its Group 4 competition role. The result retained a visible connection to the Fiat 131 while differing substantially beneath the skin; road cars and competition builds should not be assigned interchangeable specifications.
